Subject: Announcement: Silverado and Herms Districts Achieve Friends of Scouting Goal!

This email sent bcc to all GGAC Board members and GGAC Staff on behalf of Lew Sisson, Director of Field Service.

Good Afternoon,

We are excited to announce that we have two additional Districts that have achieved Friends of Scouting goal!

  • Silverado District recently became our second district to meet goal and Herms District crossed the finish line just a few days later. Led by district chair Ken Lambert, FOS chair Orrin Shakleford and district executive Andrea Knowles, Silverado ran a well balanced campaign bolstered by strong recurring giving and several new significant community gifts.
  • Herms district campaign was led by chair Richard Smith, commissioner Janet McDonald and district executive Brian Cole. Much like Silverado, Herms ran a well balanced campaign with strong family and community giving.

Congratulations and great job Silverado and Herms teams! In addition to the teams mentioned above, both Silverado and Herms lost members of their district family this year who were instrumental in not only FOS success, but countless other facets of local Scouting.

  • John Hagan served not only as district commissioner in Silverado, but went above and beyond to chair the district’s annual golf tournament and held family presentations for several units every year. John’s passion for local Scouting will be missed.
  • Craig Napp served as Herms community FOS chair and was instrumental in helping to identify and connect us with community support which the district needed. Craig’s support of the Herms effort is deeply appreciated.

I look forward to sharing more FOS success stories soon.

Thank You,

Lew Sisson
